Safety tips for handling hydrogen:

Here are some safety tips for handling hydrogen:

Storage

Keep hydrogen cylinders in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from sunlight, direct heat, and other cylinders. Store them upright and check for leaks regularly.

Handling

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Use only with adequate ventilation and avoid ignition sources.

Evacuation

If an emergency occurs, evacuate the area and use a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Cleaning

Ventilate the area and keep it evacuated.

Fire department

Obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the local Fire Department before starting a project. The NOC ensures that the property is fire resistant and unlikely to be damaged by fire.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) of the Government of India has issued a standard that outlines the emission thresholds for hydrogen to be classified as "Green". India has adopted or developed 87 standards related to the green hydrogen value chain, and 59 more are under development.
