The 3-day Kakinada Beach Festival was grandly inaugurated by the State
Chief Minister Mr. N.Kiran Kumar Reddy, Tourism Minister Mr. Chiranjeevi
and HRD Minister Mr. M.M.Pallam Raju here on Friday at Vakalapudi beach
premises in Kakinada. Speaking on this, the Chief Minister stated that,
starting any major programme from East Godavari district is considered
more auspicious and government had launched the Indiramma Baata, Rs. 1
Kg Rice and Aadhaar based direct cash transfer benefit schemes from here
only, he added. He said, a permanent beach park would be developed on
nearly 40 acres of land is being sanctioned. Government was making
efforts to develop the state as a tourist hub and organising the beach
festival is a part of it, he added. Later, Speaking on this, the Tourism
Minister Mr. Chiranjeevi has promised to sanction more funds of tourism
development in the state. Home Minister Mrs. Sabita Indira Reddy, State
Ministers Mr. Dharmana Prasada Rao, Mr. Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Mr. Ganta
Srinivasa Rao, District Ministers Mr. Thota Narasimham, Mr. Pinipe
Viswaroop, Mr. Vatti Vasantha Kumar, MLA's Mr. Kanna Babu, Mrs. Vanga
Geetha and many others were attended. On the first day, many Cultural
Music & Dance shows, Fruits & Flowers Exhibition, Food Festival,
Dog Show, Horse riding show, Folk dances, Sand arts, Photo gallery
& various stalls were arranged in this festival. All these shows
reflecting the heritage & culture of the district. A huge number of
public were attended for the first day of this festival.
