Nagarjuna Agrichem Limited, a Hyderabad-based company engaged in the manufacture and sale of pesticide technicals, formulations and fine chemicals, has resumed operations at its agrichemical factory in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh effective November 26.
“The operations were resumed as per the terms of the statutory approvals and permissions accorded for the manufacture of few products in few of the blocks. Necessary police protection has been extended to prevent any untoward incident,” the company said in a filing to the BSE on Thursday.At least 18 workers were injured in a major blast at the company’s Srikakulam plant in July 2012. The blast reportedly took place when workers were testing a new chemical in the reactor which has a 10,000 litre capacity.
“The company will be resuming operations in the other blocks, other than in the affected block, and in other products as soon as their approvals are received,” the company said.
Nagarjuna Agrichem’s scrip is currently trading at Rs 7.15 on the BSE, up 3.62%, over the previous close of Rs 6.90.
