Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India under Mission REACH has established a Centre Of Relevance and Excellence (CORE) in the field of Industrial Safety at Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi with leading fireworks industries and metal powder industries. It was inaugurated by Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on 8-11-2000.All activities of TIFAC-CORE aims at solving safety problems in industries.

M.E. in Industrial Safety Engineering

    TIFAC-CORE in Industrial Safety is conducting M.E. degree program in Industrial Safety Engineering since 2002.The Post Graduate Course is affiliated to Anna University,Thirunelveli and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. This course has been recognized as a qualification for the post of Safety Officer by the Labor and Employment (M2) Department, Government of Tamilnadu as per the G.O. M.S. No.291 dated 26.10.2004
