 Shocking: In May 2025, global carbon dioxide levels reached a record high of 430.5 parts per million (ppm), surpassing all previous readings.



This peak, recorded at the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii, is the highest in over 2 million years, according to a forecast from the Met Office.
