About the author

Mr B Karthikeyan, Process Safety Management Consultant

Mr Karthikeyan is a chemical engineer from Madras University, India and certified in risk analysis and risk management. He has over 30 years of experience in the chemical industry in the fields of operations, process safety and risk management.

Prior to becoming a PSM consultant, he has worked in the chemical industry in India and Saudi Arabia. He is an expert in process hazard analysis techniques, human factors, process incident investigation and emergency planning and response.
He has extensive practical experience in India and abroad, in leading the implementation and auditing of Process Safety Management System as per OSHA CFR 1910.119 PSM rule. He is a lead auditor for ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 management systems.

He has conducted over 300 training sessions and 250 audits on PSM for major Fertiliser, Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Companies. He has published many papers in leading magazines on PSM and presented many papers on PSM in national and international seminars.
