To redress complaints received from public and for close monitoring of problematic polluting industries located in Andhra Pradesh, A.P. Pollution Control Board has created a Task Force Cell at Board Office in August, 95. During January, 2000 two more additional Task Forces were created, one at Vijayawada to monitor the industries located in coastal districts (covering Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada Zonal Offices) and another at Hyderabad (covering Hyderabad and Kurnool Zonal Offices). The Special Task Force, Medak created in the month of April 2009. These Task Force cells are created for effective monitoring of the problematic polluting industries located in Andhra Pradesh.
The Task Force Cells are functioning by prioritizing the issues for speedy redressal of public complaints and pollution related problems. Public Complaints are received through Letters, Fax messages, Phone calls, E-Mails and Press reported complaints. Periodic inspection of industries which have committed for up-gradation of pollution control measures with concrete action plan so as to make them adhere to the schedules and review of the measures taken by the industries to abate pollution. The Task Force cells are taking action against the industries involved in illegal discharge, un-authorised dumping and for non-compliance of Board directions. AP Pollution Control Board has posted Night Surveillance teams since March, 2000 on continuous basis by deploying the technical and scientific man power to check the illegal dumping of industrial effluents in public places like open places, nallahs, sewers and other areas of Hyderabad , Ranagreddy,Medak districts.

The Non-complying units are reviewed in the hearings held before the Task Force Committee and accordingly, directions / closure orders / stop production orders / revocation of closure orders are issued on case to case basis.
Goal :
