DM WATER COST ESTIMATION

                          DM WATER COST ESTIMATION

Based on the January -2001 data:

A. FILTER WATER COST ESTIMATION

Total Water processed = 581975 m3 / month

I. Chemicals consumption in PTP

Name of the Chemical quantity Kg for the month cost of the chemicals spent in Rs

Alum 31700 117783.7

Chlorine 3600 25000.3

Polyelectrolyte 12 2227.7

Total Chemical cost per m3 of water = 0.2492 Rs / m3

II.Power consumption in PTP

Service   Power consumption in KWhr

Clarifloculator 1.5 kw*3*24*31 3348

Alum Dosing pump 1.56*24*31 1160.64

Alum Dosing stirrer 2.24*24*31 1666.56

Stilling chamber 3.5*24*31 2604

Air Blower in Sand filter 18*0.25*32 144

Raw water Pump 45*24*31 33480

Total power consumption per m3 of water = 0.073 kwhr / m3

Taking the cost of the power as 1Rs/Kwhr

Total Power cost per m3 of water = 0.073 Rs / m3

III.Water used in Backwashing in PTP

For one regeneration 400 m3 of water is used & there were

32 regenerations during the month of January

Hence water lost per m3 of filter water  = 0.022 m3 / m3 of

Cost of Raw water = 1 Rs/ m3

filter water

Therefore

.

COST OF 1 m3 OF FILTER WATER = (1+ 0.2492+0.073)/(1-0.022)

                    = 1.352 Rs / m3
