April 14th has a special significance in the history of Fire Service. On this day, in the year 1944, the fire service personnel displayed exemplary courage and devotion to duty as they fought the huge fire that had erupted following an explosion on a ship S.S. Fort Stikine berthed at the Bombay Victoria Dock, which involves 14 other ships and devastated areas of 300 acres of Bombay Dock.Amongst hundreds of dead and injured in the disaster within a radius of a mile, there were 66 Fire Service Personnel from the Bombay Fire Brigade. This incident remained as one of the most serious and devastating fire incidents of the 20th Century in the world.
Every year 14th April is observed as National Fire Service Day and on this day, due respect and homage is paid to those brave fighters who have laid down their lives while discharging their duties.
We F&S staff intend to observe Fire Service Day on 17th April 2018 (Tuesday). We are demonstrating various rescue techniques and fire models to bring awareness.
We invite all the associates and contract workmen to come and witness the demonstration at F&S Training ground at 8:30 hrs on 17th April 2018 (Tuesday).

The reason we recommend that a specialist agency be used for proper maintenance and servicing is because you will need special equipment and knowledge. For instance, you need the right equipment for refilling the cylinder, something which is only carried by agencies that offer fire extinguishers refilling India.
