Cases pending for environmental approval
As on 16.07.2023, total 16 Environmental clearance (EC) proposals related to new projects in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha are under different stages of consideration at the central level as per the provisions of the EIA Notification, 2006, as amended. Out of these, 05 proposals are related to the State of Chhattisgarh, 06 proposals are related to the State of Jharkhand and 05 proposals are related to the State of Odisha.
As per the provisions laid down in the Environment Impact Assessment Notification, 2006, as amended, the proposals are appraised by Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC), followed by consideration of recommendation of EAC by the Ministry for approval.
This information was given by Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.
