Greenko Group prioritizes safety through a comprehensive Integrated Management System (GIMS) based on international standards (ISO, IFC) and a strong "I Own Safety" (IOS) culture aimed at preventing all incidents. Their OEM safety rules for Electrical and Mechanical systems emphasize hazard identification, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), and specialized PPE.

Key Electrical OEM Safety Rules (Solar/IREP Specific)

Permit to Work (PTW): Mandatory before starting any electrical work.

Hierarchy of Controls: Prioritize eliminating the hazard (de-energizing/LOTO) over relying solely on PPE.

Live Work Restriction: Work on components only when de-energized, ideally in low-light conditions to reduce arc flash risks.

LOTO Procedure: Strict implementation of LOTO for maintenance to ensure zero voltage.

Insulation & Testing: Use insulated tools and verify zero voltage using a calibrated voltmeter before touching components.

Specialized PPE: Mandatory use of arc-rated clothing, insulating gloves (Class 0/00 rated for 1000V AC/1500V DC), and face shields.

Site Inspection: Regular inspection of DC connectors (MC4), cable joints, and inverters, often using drone surveillance and thermal imaging.

Distance Rules: Maintain a minimum of 10 feet from overhead power lines.

Key Mechanical OEM Safety Rules

LOTO for Mechanical Systems: Ensure all mechanical energy sources (pressure, hydraulic, kinetic) are isolated, locked, and tagged before maintenance.

Confined Space Entry: Strict PTW required for entering tanks or confined spaces during construction or maintenance.

Working at Height: Mandatory 100% tie-off using full-body harnesses, certified scaffolding (with daily inspection tags), and toe boards for fall protection.

Machine Guarding: Ensure all rotating or dangerous machine parts are properly guarded.

Crane & Lifting Safety: Use Anti-Two Block systems, Load Moment Indicators (LMI), and ensure only trained operators handle lifting equipment.

Key Operational Safety Measures

"I Own Safety" Initiative: A 2022/23 initiative engaging all contractors and staff in maintaining high health and safety standards.

Emergency Response Plan (ERP): Specific procedures for handling emergencies like electrical fires, shocks, or high-altitude rescues.

Training & Competency: Only trained, qualified, and medically fit personnel are allowed to handle specialized electrical or mechanical tasks.

These rules apply to all projects, including the Integrated Renewable Energy Projects (IREP) in Kurnool.
