You spoke up for nature - Thank you

Nature has been sending us a message: to care for ourselves we must care for nature. Last Friday, millions of people - many of them confined to their homes due to the pandemic - came together online to remind us to, ‘Wake up! It’s Time #ForNature.’ World Environment Day was trending #1 globally on social media. Thank you for being part of the conversation.

Host Country Colombia Live Highlights

World Environment Day’s host country for this year, Colombia, organized informative sessions and panel discussions on biodiversity on 5 June hosted by the President of Colombia Iván Duque Márquez, UNEP Executive Director Inger Anderson, Germany Minister for the Environment Svenja Schulze, Founder and Chairman of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab, and many other personalities. Watch highlights of the celebration.

Commitments #ForNature


Countries across the globe marked the occasion by announcing and acknowledging nature’s critical role in our health, economies and societies. With the world under lockdown, more than 150 online events from musical concerts, conferences and online film screenings were broadcast across multiple time zones in more than ten languages. From the Pathway to Paris and 350 virtual festival for our planet to the Global Landscape Forum Bonn Digital Conference 2020, nature was widely celebrated.
