NPK / Secondary Nutrients / Customized Fertilizer Granulation Plant

NPK / Secondary Nutrients / Customized Fertilizer Granulation Plant

Fertilizer is an essential key input for production and productivity of crops. Fertilizer alone contributes towards 55% of additional food production. Since there is no scope for extending the cultivable area, more productivity per unit area is the only option and fertilizer is the main cart puller.
NPK mixture fertilizers are formulated & recommended by agricultural scientists to enhance the output of the crops by giving it specific and exclusive blend of plant nutrients. N (nitrogen) promotes leaf growth and forms proteins and chlorophyll. P (phosphorus) contributes to root, flower and fruit development. K (potassium) contributes to stem root growth and synthesis of proteins. All the major plant nutrients like Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potash are mixed in different ratios to make it suitable for specific crops. These specific ratios of N P & K are called grades. The numbers in the grade’s name represents the percentage of N, P2O5 & K2O respectively in the mixture. There are separate grades for Rice, Wheat, Potato and Sugarcane etc. and the usage of grade also depends on the local soil quality.
NPK fertilizer granulation plants are used for production of complex with different concentrations and types, such as inorganic fertilizers and biological fertilizers. These fertilizers can be obtained in the form of uniform granules from 1 mm to 4 mm size.
Production Process:
The raw materials such as Urea, DAP, SSP, MOP, Gypsum, Dolomite etc. stored in the various hoppers are weighed in the weigh belt feeders in different quantity depending upon the grade and moved to Paddle Mixer for producing homogenous mixture. The material is mixed with the recycle material and taken for granulation in Granulator Drum where the partial granulation is achieved with very fine jet of water spray and sometimes with steam. The material is taken to Dryer Drum where hot air generated in the Furnace is passed through it. The raw material having low melting points easily melts and gets deposited on the nuclei. The high temperature evaporates water and the material is air dried. The Blowers connected to Dryer & Cooler Drums suck air from the drums and take some dust out of it. The dust is separated in the Cyclones/Dust Collectors and finally scrubbed in wet scrubber. Further, the material is cooled by blowing ambient air through it in the Cooler Drum. The 1 – 4 mm or desired size homogenous particles are obtained using two sets of Vibrating Screens and remaining either goes for crushing in Chain Mills or go as the Final Product for Coating/Packing. The oversize material (after crushing) and undersize are recycled and taken back to the Granulator Drum for reprocessing.
Packing Section consists of Product Hopper, Belt Conveyor, Weighing Machine, Semi Automatic Bagging Plant and Stitching Machine with Slat Conveyor for packed bags. The stitched bags are stacked in storage godown from where the material is shipped to the consumers.
