Mumbai, Oct. 26:
Nagarjuna Fertilisers and Chemicals (NFCL) and Bank of Maharashtra (BoM)
have signed a memorandum of understanding to provide irrigation systems
to farmers across the country.
The two have formed the Mahabank-NFCL Micro Irrigation Scheme to fund
farmers interested in setting up irrigation system in their farms.
NFCL’s micro-irrigation division will provide drip and sprinkler
irrigation while the bank will extend loans to farmers to cover the
cost. K. Radhakrishna, Vice President and Business Head, Micro
Irrigation Division, NFCL, said the tie-up will help farmers grow more
crops under micro-irrigation with minimum use of water.
