National Green Tribunal hearing on Ganga pollution today

Kanpur: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) will commence hearing on Ganga pollution from Friday.

The hearing will take place in two parts, according to Regional Pollution Control Board officials.

In the first part, NGT will discuss the reports of Central Pollution Control board (CPCB) and in second part it would give its verdict on Zero liquid Discharge system.
Regional pollution control board official Mohammad Sikandar said that the hearing had to commence from September 5 but it could not take place as report of Central Pollution Control Board had not reached NGT.

The hearing would take place in two parts. The first part would consider the pollution level in river and what efforts have been make by the CPCB so far to counter it.

The officials of Central Pollution Control Board would present their full report before the tribunal.
