The serious challenge to mankind in the 21st century is the lack of fresh water. Climate change, Pollution, and Population growth, are all accelerating, and the cumulative effect would be to bring about drastic decline in availability of water in the coming years. Agriculture alone consumes 60% of today’s fresh water and it is imperative that saving of water should be a paramount importance. The answer to wastage of water in agriculture is Micro Irrigation.
Nagarjuna Micro Irrigation business was started in the year 1993 to address the irrigation problems of farmers living in water and energy scarce regions and also in regions where water, energy and agricultural input (labor, nutrition and plant protection) supplies are expensive. Since then, Nagarjuna has accumulated a depth of agronomic knowledge that enables it to respond to the specific needs of a crop and the grower with exactly the right product and service solution.

Brief History of Micro Irrigation Division:
  • Incorporated its Micro Irrigation division (Formerly known as NAGARJUNA PALMA INDIA LIMITED) in the year 1994 in collaboration with PALMA INDIA LIMITED an Israeli consortium of three leading Irrigation companies viz Plassim, Lego and Metzerplas.
  • MI Division mainly deals with water management by Drip and sprinkler Irrigation.
  • Set up its MICRO IRRIGATION manufacturing unit at Nacharam, Hyderabad in the year of 1997 with the help of collaborators technical know how.
  • MI Plant accredited with ISO 9001:2000 by M/s. TUV in the year 2003.
  • MI division was merged with NFCL in the year 2004.
  • Took over running facilities of PVC Pipes at Nandi Kandi – Sadasivepeth in the year 2009.
  • Doubled the capacity of PVC Plant in the year 2010
  • Merger of the manufacturing unit of Ikisan at Halol , Baroda – Gujarat to manufacture Micro Irrigation system in the year 2011

Plain Laterals (On line Drip Laterals) as per IS 12786:1989
Polyethylene Irrigation Lateral is manufactured by extrusion process from virgin raw materials like Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE). This resin is incorporated with Carbon Black to protect the laterals from UV degradation. The products satisfy the stringent Quality control test and stimulated field tests. NFCL is one of the companies who has got full range of plain laterals, 12, 16, 20, 25 and 32mm.

The plain laterals being supplied along with on line emitters as on line drip irrigation system for horticulture crop.

On line drippers / emitters are being manufactured by using virgin raw materials and available in 4 and 8lph variants. The excellent flow path design ensures clogging free operation and accurate flow rate. The co efficient of variation is strictly under 5% (Category A). The drippers can be opened and cleaned for necessary maintenance.
