✦A fall from height that causes a fracture is an Acute Injury because it happens suddenly due to a specific incident. If the injured worker misses one or more scheduled workdays, the case is classified as a Lost Time Injury (LTI).

📋𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰?

👉Chronic injuries develop gradually because of repeated exposure or long-term strain, such as hearing loss from continuous noise exposure or repetitive back injuries.

🏗𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲

👉A worker slips from a platform and breaks his arm.

✔The injury occurs instantly.

✔The worker is unable to perform duties for several days or weeks.

This is:

✅Acute Lost Time Injury (Acute LTI)

👉LTI describes the loss of workdays, while Acute and Chronic describe the nature and development of the injury.
