An ambulance daily inspection focuses on vehicle safety and patient care readiness

An ambulance daily inspection focuses on vehicle safety and patient care readiness by checking mechanical systems (tires, brakes, lights, fuel), patient compartment cleanliness and equipment, emergency systems (sirens, communication), medical supplies and their expiration dates, and essential safety equipment. Key areas include fuel and fluid levels, tire condition, functional lights and sirens, the presence and expiry of medical supplies, and the cleanliness of the patient compartment.

Vehicle & Mechanical Checks

Lights and Sirens: Ensure all headlights, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, and the siren system are functioning correctly.

Wipers and Washers: Check windshield wipers and the washer fluid level.

Battery: Confirm the battery is securely mounted and fully charged.

Medical Supplies: Ensure all medical supplies (e.g., oxygen cylinders, trauma kits, first-aid supplies) are fully stocked, hygienically stored, and not expired.

Electrical Equipment: Test the functionality of medical devices such as the glucometer and suction unit.

Safety & Emergency Systems

Fire Extinguisher: Confirm the fire extinguisher is present, fully charged, and accessible.

Communication: Test the functionality of radios and other emergency communication systems.
