๐๐ฆ First Aid After Animal Bites & Stings
๐ข General First Aid
1️⃣ Stay Calm ๐ – panicking worsens the situation.
2️⃣ Remove Stinger (if any) ๐ – scrape gently with a card, not tweezers.
3️⃣ Clean the Wound ๐งผ – wash with soap & running water 10–15 min.
4️⃣ Control Bleeding ๐ฉธ – press with clean cloth or bandage.
5️⃣ Cover the Area ๐ฉน – keep it clean and protected.
6️⃣ Monitor Reactions ๐ – swelling, breathing trouble, dizziness.
7️⃣ Seek Medical Help ๐ฅ – if bite is from wild, venomous, or risk of infection.
๐ Dog / Cat Bites
* Rinse thoroughly 10–15 min under water ๐งผ
* Wash with soap, apply antiseptic ๐งด
* Cover with sterile dressing ๐ฉน
* Watch for infection (pain, redness, pus) ⚠️
* Always check rabies & tetanus risk ๐
๐ Snake Bites
* Keep person calm & limb still ๐
* Keep bite at or below heart level ๐
* Remove jewelry/tight clothes near bite ⌚๐
* Lightly cover with clean cloth ๐ฉน
๐ซ Don’t cut, suck, burn, or use tourniquet
Call emergency immediately ๐
๐ Insect Stings (Bees, Wasps, Hornets)
* Remove stinger carefully ๐
* Wash area & apply cold compress ❄️
* Antihistamines or creams may help ๐
⚠️ Call emergency if severe allergy: swelling face, lips, or breathing difficulty
๐ท️ Spider & ๐ฆ Scorpion Stings
* Wash with soap & water ๐งผ
* Apply cold pack ❄️
* Watch for symptoms: severe pain, cramps, spreading redness
* Seek medical help urgently if systemic reaction ๐
๐ Marine Animal Stings (Jellyfish, Stingrays)
* Rinse with seawater ๐ (not fresh water)
* Apply vinegar or baking soda slurry ๐งด
* Soak in hot water 20–45 min ♨️
* For stingrays: seek medical help if barb remains ๐
๐ซ Don’t
❌ Don’t cut the wound
❌ Don’t suck out venom
❌ Don’t apply tight tourniquet
❌ Don’t use traditional remedies
๐ Call Emergency If:
* Breathing difficulty, swelling of face or throat ๐ฐ
* Bite from stray or rabid animal ๐
* Venomous snake, spider, scorpion, marine sting ๐๐ฆ๐
* Severe pain, cramps, fever, nausea ๐ค
* Signs of infection after 24–48 hrs ⚠️
