Raw
water is the name given to untreated water, consisting mainly of
groundwater and surface water. Once it has undergone appropriate
treatment, it is used for industrial purposes or as drinking water.
Before
raw water can be used in this way, it has to go through special
treatment and purification stages. These processes can be fine-tuned by
continuously monitoring the quality of the raw water used. These
analyses can be carried out either directly as part of the treatment
process (online) or in the laboratory using samples.
The parameters most frequently analysed are:
- Nitrogen compounds such as ammonium, nitrates and nitrites
- Conductivity
- Oxygen
- pH
- Iron
- Manganese
- Chlorides
- Sulphates
- Phosphates
- Hardness
- TOC
- COD
- Silica
