Neem Oil an Urea Coating Agent which improves Urea efficiency and crop yield
Plants need a continuous availability of nitrogen at various stages for proper growth. Urea contains highest amount of nitrogen among all inorganic nitrogenous fertilizers. So share of urea used is 75% among all nitrogenous fertilizers used worldwide. Various factors like nitrification rate and water availablity contribute to urea decomposition in soil. So urea decomposed at a different rate in different conditions of soil. It ultimately affects proper growth and yield of crops.
Scientist intervened the process of decomposition of urea in soil and found that reduction in nitrification can leads to reduction in loss of nitrogen because this way urea sustain for long term in soil. So a nitrification inhibitor could solve the problem. But chemial solution for this problems was more harmful than helpful because of their sustainance time in soil.
Neem oil has proven nitrification inhibition properties. This way it slow down the process of nitrogen release from urea. It is the best nitrification inhibiting agent till date and better than any chemicals
Neem ingredients like azadirachtin, epinimbin and other meliacins were found to put profound effects on nitrification. This leads to our neem based urea coating agent product.
Benefits of Neem coated Urea
• 1. Slows down the nitrification rate and hence decomposition of urea in soil.
• 2. Increase the yield of crop by 48%.
• 3. Decrease urea requirement by 50% and hence save MONEY .
• 4. Controls soil born nematodes, termites and other pest due to pesticidal properties.
• 5. It is a Next Generation Urea Coating Agent.
Application Method
Spread the required quantity of urea in shade & mix our urea coating agent (5000 ml per metric ton or 250 ml per bag of 50Kg of Urea) thoroughly; mix the two to get uniformly coated urea. Keep in shade for about three hours before application for deriving maximum benefit from neem urea coat.
Packaging Available :
Neem urea coating agent are ready to use formulation and available in range of retail ready packing like 250ml, 500ml, 1 Litre & 5 Litre. We also export and provide neem urea coating agent in bulk packaging in HDPE drums with quantities like 50 Liter, 200 Litres & in Tankers.
Urea Transformations :
Under the environmental conditions encountered in most parts of India, urea after application to soils hydrolyses fairly rapidly to ammonium carbonate, over a maximum period of about a week. The ammoniacal form of nitrogen is subsequently converted to nitrite and then to nitrate by the action of nitrifying bacteria viz. Nitrosomonas sps. and Nitrobacter sps., respectively. The processes of hydrolysis and nitrification of urea fertilizer are to a large extent completed in about 15–20 days under most agroclimatic conditions. In this context, it should be noted that the duration of most cultivated crops extends beyond 90–100 days, and therefore, nitrates formed as a result of the relatively rapid hydrolysis and nitrification of urea being highly soluble, and in excess of the limited quantities required by the crops at their early stages of growth are liable to be leached down the soil profile, beyond the active root zone of crops. Moreover, under waterlogged conditions nitrates are reduced to elemental nitrogen and nitrous oxide by the action of denitrifying bacteria to meet their oxygen demand. This leads to the development of nitrogen deficiency and poor crop yields. In view of this it is most important that fertilizer use efficiency needs to be improved to make fertilizer use economically viable and more attractive.
Nitrogen from Urea is released in the soil and water and leached by activity of nitrifying bacteria Nitrobactor and Nitrosomonas. These bacterias turn nitrogen in nitrite and then nitrate which are highly mobile in nature when present in soil. By these processes approximate 50% of nitrogen provided by urea is lost.
Solution to this problem of nitrogen loss of urea is to coat the urea with a substance that can prevent bacterial activity of nitrification.
