Some green ammonia can qualify for the European Union's (EU) Renewable Fuels from Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO) standards:

AM Green Ammonia

AM Green Ammonia's green ammonia produced in India meets EU RFNBO standards. AM Green's Kakinada facility was pre-certified by CertifHy, which demonstrates that the facility's green hydrogen production processes meet EU RFNBO standards.

RWE

RWE has secured ammonia from AM Green Ammonia that meets EU RFNBO standards for delivery from 2027.

The EU has some of the world's most stringent regulations for renewable fuels. Compliance with EU standards can provide several benefits, including:

Export potential: Compliance with EU standards can allow for broad export potential across the EU and other jurisdictions.

Market scale-up: Compliance can lead to quicker market scale-up.

Investor confidence: Compliance can help build investor confidence.

Green ammonia is produced by combining green hydrogen with atmospheric nitrogen. Green hydrogen is produced by decomposing water into hydrogen and oxygen using renewable energy.
