Some important parameters for industrial lubricants include:

Viscosity: The most important parameter of industrial oils, viscosity measures the ability of the lubricant to form a film between moving parts.

Viscosity index: Measures how the viscosity of the oil changes with temperature. Oils with a viscosity index of at least 95 are recommended.

Thermal stability: The thermal stability of the oil affects the type of oil that should be chosen.

Additive package: The additive package should fit the operating conditions of the application.

Oxidation stability: Oxidation is a reaction that occurs when oxygen combines with the oil, and can be accelerated by high temperatures, water, and acids.

Pour point: The lowest temperature at which the lubricant will flow.

Demulsibility: The ability of the lubricant to separate from water.

Flash point: The temperature at which the lubricant will ignite when heated and mixed with air.

Total Base Number (TBN): Indicates the oil's ability to neutralize acidic contaminants.

Water: Water can reduce the lubricating effectiveness of the oil.

To maintain the quality and effectiveness of lubricants, they should be stored in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures
