Understanding these three safety terms can help save lives at the workplace!

🔴 Accident: An unexpected event that causes injury, illness, or damage.

💥 Example: A worker slips on an oily floor and breaks a bone.

🟠 Incident (Near Miss): An unplanned event that didn’t cause harm, but could have.

⚠️ Example: A falling object just misses hitting someone.

🟡 Hazard: Anything that can potentially cause harm — a danger waiting to happen.

🧯 Example: Exposed wires or a wet floor without a warning sign.

These three are connected: Hazards lead to incidents, and incidents can lead to accidents if not controlled. That’s why every workplace must focus on hazard identification, incident reporting, and accident prevention.
