Project details

AM Green Ammonia is building a green ammonia plant with a production capacity of 1 million tons per year (MTPA). The plant is expected to start production in the second half of 2026. 

Partners

AM Green Ammonia is partnering with John Cockerill of Belgium to develop India's largest electrolyzer manufacturing plant in Kakinada. The plant will supply electrolyzers to AM Green's Kakinada project. 

Offtake agreements

AM Green Ammonia has offtake agreements with Yara, Keppel, and Uniper. The majority of phase one production volume is headed to European markets. 

Power

AM Green Ammonia has secured 1,300 MW of carbon-free power round-the-clock through a combination of solar and wind hybrid capacity and PSP capacity. AM Green Ammonia also has a 25-year fixed-price power purchase agreement (PPA) with NTPC. 

Certification

AM Green Ammonia's Kakinada facility has been certified by CertifHy as compliant with EU RFNBO requirements for green ammonia. 

Green ammonia

Green ammonia can be used as a fuel for ships, boilers, turbines, or engines to generate heat and electricity. It can also play a role in decarbonizing the maritime sector.
