process of photosynthesis

The process of photosynthesis in a simple and clear way.

Here's a quick breakdown of the steps:

1. Water:

Absorbed by roots from the soil.

Travels through vessels in the stem to the leaves.

2. Carbon Dioxide:

Enters through tiny pores in the leaves called stomata.

Comes from the surrounding air.

3. Sunlight:

Absorbed by chlorophyll (a green pigment in leaves).

Energy from sunlight is used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen.

4. Oxygen:

By-product of photosynthesis.

Released from the leaves into the air.

5. Glucose:

Made from hydrogen (from water) and carbon dioxide.

Used by the plant as food for growth and energy.

Extra Fact:

Photosynthesis helps maintain the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
