APPCB initiative for E waste Management

 The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) is actively involved in e-waste management through initiatives like collecting data, encouraging entrepreneurs to set up e-waste management units, and partnering with organizations for e-waste collection drives. They also compile data on e-waste generation to understand the pollution threat.

Data Collection:

The APPCB is focused on compiling comprehensive data on e-waste generation within Andhra Pradesh to understand the scale of the problem and plan for effective management. 

Encouraging E-Waste Management Units:

The APPCB is promoting the establishment of e-waste management units by entrepreneurs to ensure the safe and proper disposal of electronic waste, reports The New Indian Express. 

Collaborations:

The APPCB collaborates with organizations like India Youth For Society (IYFS) to conduct e-waste collection drives, providing drop-off points and raising awareness about responsible e-waste disposal. 

E-Waste Collection and Recycling:

Green Waves Recyclers, for example, has been working with the APPCB to collect e-waste from households and recycle it in a scientifically approved manner, according to The New Indian Express. 

E-Waste Management Rules:

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has notified the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, which are meant to strengthen e-waste management practices and provide a legal framework.
