Major Green Hydrogen Hubs in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh's long coastline makes it prime territory for clean energy. Backed by the state's Integrated Clean Energy Policy, multiple massive hydrogen zones are in active development: [1, 2]
Formally declared as the country's central hydrogen valley, Kakinada hosts a massive ₹15,600-crore project by AM Green (backed by the Greenko Group). It will feature a 2-GW electrolyzer setup and aims to begin exporting green ammonia to Germany by June 2027.
Jointly spearheaded by NTPC Green Energy Ltd and NREDCAP, this ₹1.85 lakh crore hub is being built across 1,600 acres. Powered by 20 GW of clean energy, it will produce 1,500 tonnes per day (TPD) of green hydrogen alongside an 80-million-liter-per-day desalination plant.
