🔴 CORRECTIVE ACTION — REACTIVE

✅ Done AFTER something happens

✅ Fix the problem + remove the cause

✅ Stop it from repeating

Example: Clean spill → fix leak → retrain → prevent slips

 

🟢 PREVENTIVE ACTION — PROACTIVE

✅ Done BEFORE anything happens

✅ Spot risks early → eliminate root causes

✅ Build safer systems & culture

Example: Install guardrails → inspect → train → prevent falls

 

💡 Simple Rule:

🔴 Corrective = FIX TODAY

🟢 Preventive = PREVENT TOMORROW

 

👉 Be Proactive, Not Reactive!

👉 Fix what happened… but plan for what hasn’t yet!
