This poster is the complete safety language of any workplace. It's built on the international standard ISO 7010 - color + shape tells you what to do even before you read the words.

The top says it all: Know the signs • Recognize the hazard • Work safely

There are 5 families:

1. PROHIBITION SIGNS (Red - White)

Shape: Circle with a red border and diagonal slash

Meaning: What you must NOT do. Stop.

From your poster:

No Smoking, No Open Flame - ignition risk, common around fuel, gas, chemicals

No Entry, No Pedestrians, No Forklift Trucks - keeps people and machines from clashing

No Mobile Phones - distraction + spark risk in some areas

No Food or Drink - contamination risk

Do Not Touch - don't operate without permission

Think: Red = Stop, like a traffic light.

2. WARNING SIGNS (Yellow - Black)

Shape: Triangle

Meaning: Potential hazard or danger ahead. Be careful.

From your poster:

General Warning, Flammable Material, Electric Shock, Explosion Risk - energy hazards

Slippery Surface, Fall Hazard, Falling Objects, Heavy Load, Moving Machinery - physical hazards

Toxic Hazard, Corrosive Material, High Temperature - health / chemical hazards

Think: Yellow = Caution, like a hazard light. Black symbol shows the exact risk.

3. MANDATORY SIGNS (Blue - White)

Shape: Solid blue circle with white symbol

Meaning: What you MUST do. PPE and actions required to enter or work.

From your poster:

Head, eyes, ears, lungs, face: Wear Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirator, Face Shield

Body: Wear High-Visibility Clothing, Safety Boots, Gloves, Fall Protection / Safety Harness

Behaviour: Keep Area Clean, Wash Hands

This is the most important section for enforcement. No blue = no entry.

Think: Blue = Must do, like a instruction.

4. EMERGENCY / INFORMATION SIGNS (Green - White)

Shape: Square or rectangle, green background

Meaning: Where to go or where help is when something goes wrong. Safe route.

From your poster:

Exits and direction: Emergency Exit, Fire Exit, Direction to safety (arrow), Refuge Point

People management: Assembly Point / Muster point

First aid equipment: First Aid, Eye Wash, Safety Shower, AED Defibrillator, Breathing Apparatus, Stretcher, Emergency Phone

Think: Green = Go, safe place.

5. FIRE EQUIPMENT SIGNS (Red - White)

Shape: Square or rectangle, solid red

Meaning: Where fire-fighting equipment is. Note: It's red like prohibition, but square not circle - so you can tell it's not telling you to stop, it's showing you where the tool is.

From your poster: Fire Extinguisher, Fire Hose Reel, Fire Alarm Call Point, Fire Blanket, Fire Hydrant

How to remember it fast for a toolbox talk:

Red Circle with line: DON'T

Yellow Triangle: BEWARE

Blue Circle: DO

Green Square: SAFE / HELP HERE

Red Square: FIRE TOOL HERE

And bottom right is the culture part: Safety Signs Save Lives

Always look for signs, understand what they mean, follow the instructions, and help keep yourself and others safe. 💯🚨🌡️🏗️🚥📝⛑️🦺🚧⚠️🚦
