1. Global Climate Coalition
www.treehugger.com
The Global Climate Coalition (GCC) was founded in 1989 when 46 big US
corporations felt that the necessary fight against climate changes
might become problem for maximizing their profits. They call themselves
“voice for business in the
Global Warming
debate,” promoting a theory that “Global Warming is real, but it is too
expensive to do anything about, and the Kyoto Protocol is fundamentally
flawed.” Some corporations, led by British Petroleum, began deserting
the coalition in late 90’s and early 2000’s, but those which stayed
there managed to keep the power and continue to obstruct any necessary
act by environmentalists. They’re completely funded by corporations and
trade associations.
2. George Marshall Institute
www.climateconference.heartland.org
The main activity of the George Marshall Institute is denial that the
Global Warming
is actually happening. According to them “cyclical variations in the
intensity of the sun would offset any climate change associated with
elevated greenhouse gases,” so we shouldn’t do anything to prevent rise
of temperatures. Unfortunately, this organization had great influence on
Bush Sr. administration in creating environmental policies.
3. Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine
www.atomsand.blogas.lt
The Oregon Institute of
Science and Medicine hasn’t found any scientific basis of the
Global Warming
yet, and that’s the reason why they do everything they can to undermine
the fight against climate changes. Together with the Marshall Institute
they co-sponsored a campaign named Petition Project, which aim was to
make Americans reject the Kyoto Protocol. In 1998 thousands of
scientists around the country received a mass mailing urging them to
sign this petition calling on the government to reject the Kyoto
Protocol. Whether it was their credit, the United States have never
ratified the protocol. The campaign was funded completely by private
sources.
4. Science and Environmental Policy Project

The Science and Environmental Policy Project is an organization founded by
famous
environmental skeptic Fred Singer, whose purpose was to “document the
relationship between scientific data and the development of federal
environmental policy.” He tried to achieve that by convincing us that
“action on climate change is not warranted because of shaky science and
flawed policy approaches.” All of his actions were funded by
conservative foundations, including Forbes, Smith Richardson, and
Bradley.
5. Greening Earth Society

If you thought that organization with such name protects the Earth,
you’re so badly wrong. However, it’s not your fault, as the founders
have chosen name which lies to you easily. It’s like naming cigarettes
brand “Happy Lungs!” The Greening Earth Society was founded by Western
Fuel Associations, which aim is to show us that CO2 emissions are good
for the planet, financed by coal companies. Of course, they’ve never
managed to prove so.
6. Center for the Study of Carbon Dioxide & Global Change
www.php.delawareonline.com
The Center for the Study of Carbon Dioxide & Global Change is
closely related to Greening Earth Society. The only difference is that
they want to show the world that CO2 emissions are good not just for
humanity, but also for the plants. They’re extremely secretive about
their funding sources, but there are assumptions that their creative
environmental ideas were financially encouraged by Western Fuel
Associations.
