Fire in campus housing controlled by fire sprinklers
The Tufts Daily,
the independent student publication of Tufts University, reports a
successful fire sprinkler activation during a fire in a suite kitchen at
Sophia Gordon Hall. The fire started in a suite kitchen as a result of
unattended cooking. It set off the fire alarm and turned on a fire
sprinkler, which contained the fire.
The suite sustained minimal damage and no one was injured. An announcement was released from the University via e-mail informing the Tufts community of the incident. According to the announcement, “The fire sprinkler system and fire detection system, present in all university housing, worked correctly and helped to minimize damage.”
