APPCB was released booklets on E-waste Management rules 2016

Dr. G.N. Phani Kumar, IAS (Retd.), Chairman, APPCB and Sri B.S.S.Prasad, IFS (Retd.), Member Secretry, APPCB was released booklets on E-waste Management rules 2016,  C&D Waste Management rules 2016, Solid Waste Management rules 2016 and Plastic Waste Management rules 2016 in the function held at APPCB Head Office today i.e., 09.05.2016.
In addition to that the Board has initiated to conduct Clincs for various industries sectors duly inviting the experts in that particular field like the experts from Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), IITs, and subject experts from different institutions. The objective of the clinic is to have detailed interactions between the industry personnel and the experts so as to arrive appropriate solutions for the problems being faced by the industries apart from transparency. The first clinic for Pharma Industry was conducted at Visakhapatnam on 28.04.2016; second clinic was conducted for Barium compounds industry at Kadapa on 30.04.2016.
APPCB proposed to conduct third clinic on Edible Oil Industry in Vijayawada on 12.05.2016 at D.V.Manor Hotel,  to resolve various technical issues pertaining to the Edible Oil Industry including waste minimisation, cleaner technology options, treatment and disposal options etc.,
Following are the issues to be covered in the interaction meet :
  1. Issues on waste minimization options by employing cleaner technologies in the process operations so that the load on end of pipe treatment system is reduced
  2. Issues on odour control systems
  • Issues on appropriate technologies available for treatment of effluent generated
  1. Issues on possibilities of common effluent treatment systems (CETPs) for cluster of industries in Edible Oil Sector
  2. Issues on safe effluent disposal options
  3. Issues of utilization and disposal options for solid waste generated
  • Issues on monitoring systems and cost economics for treatment

Apart from the above resource persons, the treatment systems suppliers and consultants are also attending. About 100 edible oil industry personnel and stake holders from various organisations are also invited for the above clinic. Dr. Phani Kumar, IAS (Rtd.), Chairman, APPCB and Sri BSS Prasad, IFS (Rtd.) Member Secretary, APPCB are attending the Clinic as guests of honour.
