Moringa is a fast growing tropical tree often referred to as "miracle tree" or "tree of life."" It is highly nutritional and medicinal with several environmental benefits.
Its leaves contain high-quality protein, vitamins, minerals such as calcium, postassuim and iron with essential amino acids.
Some of its health benefits include; preventing diabetes by lowering blood sugar levels, preventing heart disease by reducing LDL cholesterol, reducing inflammation amongst others.
Environmentally, moringa is drought tolerant, being able to thrive well in arid and semi-arid regions. In addition, it controls erosion, improves soil fertility and purify water by acting as natural coagulant.
As part of our tree growing efforts and fostering environmental consciousness especially in schools, we propagate moringa with Green Club students of Suduwol Upper Basic & Senior Secondary School in Kantora Constituency of URR to combat environmental degradation and address malnutrition as a priority to achieving food security.
Together, we create a better and green environment! 💚💚
