Solar power plant proposals in Nandyal, YSR and Kurnool districts also get the nod

The State government on Monday approved the establishment of a 1.0 MMTPA green hydrogen-based green ammonia manufacturing plant at Kakinada by AM Green Ammonia (India) Private Limited as per the provisions of the AP Integrated Clean Energy Policy, 2024 (ICEP)

As per a G.O. issued by Special Chief Secretary (Energy) K. Vijayanand, the government will provide various incentives under the ICEP, including a capital subsidy of 25% subject to a maximum of ₹1.85 crore per Kilo Ton Per Annum (KTPA) production unit of green ammonia facility and ₹2.25 crore per KTPA production unit of the green methanol facility. 

The government will also provide reimbursement of 100% net SGST revenue to the developer from the sale of green hydrogen and its derivatives within the State for five years from Commissioning Date (CoD). 

Besides, 50% of intra-State transmission charges are going to be exempted for the developer for five years from COD for the power procured from renewable energy (with or without storage) plants located in the State subject to a maximum of ₹15 lakh per MW per year of installed electrolyzer capacity. 

The government approved the setting up of 500 Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) plants by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) with an aggregate capacity of 11,000 Metric Tons in different districts and agreed to extend incentives under ICEP, 2024, for which it will allocate revenue lands available if any at each CBG plant location on lease basis at the rate of ₹15,000 per acre per year with an escalation of 5% every two years. 

The government has sanctioned the proposal for setting up of a 119 MW wind and 130 MW solar hybrid power plant along with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) by Clean Renewable Energy Hybrid Three Pvt. Ltd in Nandyal and YSR districts, and approved the setting up of a 400 MW solar power project by Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited near Pattikonda in Kurnool district.

Also, a proposal for setting up a 2 GW electrolyser manufacturing facility at Kakinada by John Cockerill Greenko Hydrogen Solutions Private Limited has been approved by the government.
