deuterium, and tungsten lamps have different specifications, including power consumption, dimensions, and lifetime.

Power consumption

Deuterium lamp: A deuterium lamp can have a power consumption of 70 W or 90 W.

Tungsten halogen lamp: A tungsten halogen lamp can have a power consumption of 100 W.

Dimensions

Deuterium lamp: A deuterium lamp can have dimensions of 220 mm in length and 50 mm in diameter.

Tungsten halogen lamp: A tungsten halogen lamp can have dimensions of 315 mm x 165 mm x 140 mm.

Lifetime

Deuterium lamp: A deuterium lamp can have a lifetime of 1000 hours.

Tungsten halogen lamp: A tungsten halogen lamp can have a lifetime of 2000 hours.

Other specifications

Reflector: A deuterium lamp can have an f/4 reflector.

Spectral peak ratio: A hydrogen-deuterium lamp can have a spectral peak ratio of approximately 2:1.

Windows: A hydrogen-deuterium lamp can have two opposite windows that are 18 mm x 40 mm.

Deuterium and tungsten lamps are used together in High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to measure the concentration of molecules.
