Powering conversations on the future of India's power sector.
The 67th meeting of the Commercial Sub-Committee of the Southern Regional Power Committee (SRPC) was convened recently at Greenko's Pinnapuram Integrated Renewable Energy Storage Project (IREP), near Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
Hosted by Greenko, the meeting brought together around 50 delegates from power utilities across the Southern Region, including generation, transmission, distribution companies and State Load Despatch Centres (SLDCs) from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry. Representatives from central utilities (NTPC Ltd, Power Grid, CTUIL & NLC India Ltd), Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and other stakeholders also participated.
The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders across the power ecosystem to deliberate on matters supporting the stability, reliability and efficient operation of the integrated power system in the Southern Region.
Following the meeting, delegates toured the Pinnapuram Integrated Renewable Energy Storage Project, gaining insights into its infrastructure and operational performance. As one of the world's largest integrated renewable energy projects, Pinnapuram combines solar, wind and closed-loop pumped-storage hydropower within a single integrated system to deliver schedulable and dispatchable renewable energy on a round-the-clock basis.
We thank the Southern Regional Power Committee and all participating stakeholders for the opportunity to host the meeting and for the valuable exchange of perspectives on the future of the power sector.
